Challenge:

Rock icons, The Rolling Stones, approached Kompolt regarding the sale of a “not yet available to the public” S600 sedan which had been presented to the Stones by Mercedes-Benz USA. In turn, the band sought to donate the car to a charity aimed at hurricane-ravaged New Orleans and surrounding communities.

The Kompolt Factor:

By involving flagship client, the GRAMMY Foundation—excited by the potential contribution to their Gulf Coast effort—Kompolt forged a partnership between the music giants which resulted in a unique Cause Marketing Campaign directly benefiting the MusiCares Hurricane Relief Fund. Working alongside the fund, Mercedes-Benz, The Rolling Stones, and EMI, the GRAMMY/MusiCares team at Kompolt utilized such innovative tools as targeted guerilla marketing to publicize the sale. As always, Kompolt brought to bear custom creative and expert consulting in developing this first-time initiative.

Result:

By successfully integrating several high-profile parties with disparate identities into a cohesive, mutually-branded promotion, Kompolt transformed The Rolling Stones’ simple charitable notion into a highly successful and significant online campaign. The Rolling Stones’ good deed ultimately raised over $120,000.
